Love by Britto is the new specialty restaurant featured on the Sun Princess, and so far people are loving it!
On our recent Sun Princess cruise during the inaugural Mediterranean season, we made sure to try out Love by Britto, and can tell you that it’s one of the best restaurants on the ship!
The great reviews you’ll likely see of the restaurant are not only because of the innovative menu, but the space itself. The location, decor, service, and ambiance make the restaurant feel extra special, and the views are incredible.
What to expect
The space is beautiful, albeit hard to find. It’s in the rear of the ship past guest cabins, some laundry facilities, and at the end of the hall. Admittedly, approaching it felt odd but immediately upon arrival, you walk into an entirely unexpected, beautiful space crafted just for this restaurant.
The walls are adorned with Romero Britto art with place settings decorated in the theme of Britto. It’s something that may seem over the top in concept but the elegance of the space makes it feel as if you’re dining in an art gallery. Even better is the view out from the aft of the ship!
TIP: If you are able to reserve seating before sunset, you’ll be rewarded with an amazing view over the ocean as the sun goes down for the evening. Don’t forget the exclusive little terrace for Britto guests only. It’s a great place to have a cocktail before or after dinner.
The Food
The food on our cruise hadn’t been very exceptional overall, so our expectations were tempered. We were pleasantly surprised by the menu options and preparation for each course.
While the food was some of the best on the Sun Princess, the portions were small. Even though it’s a multi-course dinner menu, we still felt a little hungry at the end.
For example, for the Amuse, I ordered what I thought would be a couple oysters. But, it was AN oyster – A beautiful oyster, but just one small oyster.
The appetizers were also quite small. Delicious but small.
Love by Britto Menu – Sun Princess
All in all, the food quality and presentation at Love by Britto made up for the portion size, so the experience felt more like a tasting event than a full dinner.
Is Love by Britto worth it on the Sun Princess? For the $79 per person, I think so. Everyone we spoke with really enjoyed the experience as a whole and no one left feeling disappointed. In fact, the general consensus is that it was the best thing on the ship.
The evening felt like we were eating little pieces of art during every course, which really was a treat!

About Romero Britto
For those of you who don’t know about Romero Britto, he’s a Miami based artist who’s created his own brand of Pop Art and is considered one of the most famous living visual artists. His art celebrates love, fun and whimsy. Having lived in Miami, it was always a real treat to see something new displayed by Romero Britto, and I’m proud to say I own a few of his pieces! Read more about his art here at the Romero Britto shop.
A beautiful themed restaurant for the romantic at heart! There were seated couples, singles, and friends enjoying Love by Brito’s. The restaurant is an artist’s dream and a culinary masterpiece! It is a visual feast for the eyes and palate!
The ambiance and table settings were a 10. The service was a 10. Each course visually was a 10. The food was an 8.
The dessert was a 10!
Overall, I loved this restaurant and highly recommend this new style of dining on Sun Princess!
Glad you loved it too! I would totally agree, the food was 8/10, but the presentation was really beautiful I thought.
